Vacuum Forming

The most common method of thermoforming is vacuum forming. The basic principle of the vacuum forming process relies on vacuum to quickly remove air between the mold and heated plastic sheet. As the air is removed from the enclosed cavity, it causes a pressure reduction on that side of the sheet, thus allowing the natural atmospheric pressure to force the heated plastic sheet in the evacuated space.
